Update John Lithgow is in talks to play Dumbledore.
Previously : Mark Rylance (Bones and All) is being eyed to play Dumbledore in the new HARRY POTTER TV show. Richard Harris and Michael Gambon played the role in the movies.
HBO won’t confirm or deny the rumor.
“We appreciate that such a high-profile series will draw a lot of rumor and speculation,” HBO said in a statement. “As we make our way through pre-production, we will only confirm details as we finalize deals.”
