Will there be a DESCENDANTS 4?

Sofia Carson – currently in a new Netflix movie called CARRY ON, which is getting good reviews – says she “can’t imagine” doing another DESCENDANTS movie without Cameron Boyce. Boyce tragically died in 2019.

“I can’t imagine ever stepping into the Descendants world without Cam,” Carson told Decider this month, “Because it was the core four.”

Boyce passed away just a month before DESCENDANTS 3, in which Carson again played Evie and Boyce played Carlos.

While there’s been a spin-off movie with new cast members, and likely there’ll be more, Carson won’t do DESCENDANTS 4. She said : “No. I couldn’t.” But, she added, “I’m so happy that the franchise is still alive and well, and so beloved by so many people. Being Evie is truly one of the greatest gifts of my life, and I adore her so dearly.”

The actress is still in contact with her co-stars

“We’re forever connected after those films, and after the loss that we experienced with our Cam. We get to see each other every year, once a year, at Cam’s gala for the Cameron Boyce Foundation, which we all support,” Carson said. “It’s always really special, because it always brings back really beautiful memories of that time together. “
