SPEAK NO EVIL | Review

Synopsis : A family is invited to spend a weekend in an idyllic country house, unaware that their dream vacation will soon become a psychological nightmare. You may have seen or even read it all before but the new film “Speak No Evil” has such nasty surprises in store that you forget that the story it’s telling isn’t really that new (in fact, it’s a remake of a 2022 movie). As is menacing and scary, it slowly gets scary and scarier. By the the end of the film he becomes one of the all time movie monsters. And the poor family, Scoot McNairy and Mackenzie Davis, as the parents, and young kindly wife Ciara (Aisling Franciosi) and tongueless son Ant (Dan Hough) as the daughter, are a family we can all relate to caught up in a confusing, suddenly horrible situation. It gets scarier by the minute for them and we are right um there with them. And as seeemingly nice wife Ciara (Aisling Franciosi) and tongueless son Ant (Dan Hough), they’re all very interesting characters that get even more interesting the more we learn about the secrets they keep. What I liked about this movie is that the tension just keeps creeping up on you; it starts very slowly and then by the end you’re on the edge or your seat. Like any good thriller. I’d see this again.
